Details
One of the flagship varieties at Cass Vineyard, Mourvedre loves heat and always performs well in the warmer regions of east Paso Robles. With aromas that remind you of a French country kitchen, the 2009 Mourvedre opens with aromas of game, garrigue, fresh herbs, strawberry and orange zest. Savory notes of soy and eucalyptus intermingle with other dried berry notes, making for a nose that oozes with complexity. Soft, round, and gentle on the mid palate, the wine is bursts with layers of fruit, including sour cherry, goji berry, and dried strawberry. Hints of spice, pepper, and herbs light up the finish as the fruit sails on.
