The 2009 Pinot Noir Leroy Vineyard does a fine job of melding the elegance of the vintage with some extra depth, concentration, and complexity. It will continue to blossom for another 1-2 year and should provide enjoyment through 2021.
Details
Leroy is a 35 year old vineyard that covers 4 acres in the Chehalem Mountains. Chris Berg, the owner/winemaker of Roots, has been farming Leroy organically since the 2006 vintage, of the 4 acres, Roots has 3 under contract, from which they produced 122 cases in the 2009 vintage. As with all of the wines from Roots, this is an extraordinary value in Pinot Noir.
