The 2010 Loring Chardonnay "Parmelee-Hill Vineyard" is one of the three Chardonnays that Brian Loring has made in the 2010 vintage. After years of producing critically and consumer acclaimed Pinot Noirs from some of California's top vineyards, Loring also produces a few Chardonnays. These are big, powerful Chardonnays from great vineyard sites made in the distinctly California style which Loring loves. As Loring described them, they are made in the style of Kistler--before they got wimpy! A guilty pleasure with all the non-oaked Chardonnays on the market, but way more pleasure than guilt. The 2010 Loring Chardonnay "Parmelee-Hill Vineyard" is a rich Chardonnay that is balanced by a nice fresh, vibrant aspect--not to be missed!
"We decided to make Chardonnay to sell because it's getting harder and harder to find the richer style Chardonnays that we prefer in the marketplace. It seems that stainless steel fermentation and non-ML Chardonnays are all the rage these days. Maybe I'm just not "hip"... but I like some buttery, toasty, oaky goodness in my Chardonnay. Not gobs and gobs of butter and oak, but enough to add texture and depth. We're extremely excited about our 2010s!" - Brian Loring
